We are delighted to be returning to classes!
For the next two weeks, we are offering classes to our Fall Term registrants who lost classes due to the lockdown Nov. 13.
Then we will begin our Spring Term!
However, there will be some big changes — temporary changes, we hope.
AHS requires 3 metres minimum distance: BVLD is limiting each class to only 10 dancers.
AHS requires masks at all times: BVLD says 3 layer cloth or surgical or KN95. (BVLD has some to get you started.)
AHS states low-intensity only: I can only teach low intensity dances while wearing a mask, so for now I will only teach Level 1 and 1.5 dances. While this will not make everyone happy, it allows us to dance together!
Our Level 1 and Level 1.5 Monday classes will proceed as usual.
All three of our Friday classes will all be low-intensity, equivalent to Level 1.5 dances for now.
Level 1.5, 2, 3, and 4 dancers are all welcome.
If you registered for our Winter Term (Jan. to March), and if you are willing to accept these changes for the Spring Term, please quickly email me to confirm. Only 10 dancers will be allowed per class for now.
If you are not ready to return at this time, we will refund your Winter registration.
If you have not registered yet, please click on the Registration tab if you want to join the fun for Spring Term.
Please note that those who had registered for Winter Term will be offered the spaces first.
There will be limited spaces available for new registrants.
As throughout the past year, we may be required to change plans on short notice.
…..so happy to see you on the dance floor soon,
Expect a new posting by tomorrow.
(Hint: good news!)
..only 17 days until St. Patrick’s Day!
Here are some favourite Irish dances in our BVLD repertoire, if you would like to ‘get your Irish on’ at home,
Slainte!! (“Health” in Irish Gaelic)
Here is a great online opportunity for all of our dancers!
Our Calgary colleague, Wendy Johansson, is teaching online classes.
For only $10 per month, you can attend any and all classes!
And Wendy sends out the recorded class for attendance any time too
(or for practicing)

While we wait for dancing in person, this is a super opportunity for all levels.
Keep dancing for joy,
Hello Dancing friends,
Regrettably, we do not know when we can begin our Winter Term.
The Board is proposing that we will offer 9 weeks of lessons (as per your registration), commencing whenever we receive permission to begin.
This may mean that your lessons will extend into the end of March or perhaps April or May.
If you would prefer a refund for any reason, please email us at firstname.lastname@example.org
For those who have paid by cheque, your cheque will be deposited next week, unless you request its return.
Thank you for your patience.
We can hardly wait to be safely dancing together with you!!
on behalf of the BVLD Board
